Foundling Museum: Visit new exhibition at London attraction
Published: Thursday 28th of January 2010
Mat Collishaw, Tracey Emin and Paula Rego: At the Foundling opened yesterday (January 27th) and displays work relating to the themes of the museum, which memorialises Britain's first home for abandoned children.
Included in the exhibition are Tracey Emin's series of discarded baby items cast in bronze and Mat Collishaw's photos of Indian street children.
There are two principal collections at the museum: the Foundling Collection and the Gerald Coke Handel Collection, which relate primarily to the history of the Foundling Hospital and the life and work of the composer George Frideric Handel.
The Foundling Museum is located on Brunswick Square in the centre of London and the new exhibition runs until May 9th.
To get to the London attraction, visitors should use the London Underground and alight at either Kings Cross St Pancras or Russell Square, which are both a short walk from the museum.
