Boris keen for older residents to find things to do in London
Published: Tuesday 10th of August 2010
People aged 50 and older should be given as much opportunity to enjoy London attractions as other residents in the capital.
The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has indicated that he is keen for all Londoners to enjoy everything that the capital has to offer, from jobs through to volunteering.
Mr Johnson explained: "People in their sixties, seventies and older bring a wealth of experience, insight and talent.
"Older men and women also have a critical role to play through volunteering and mentoring, bringing enthusiasm, commitment and unbeatable life-skills that can only come with age."
Older Londoners may be keen to have a break from work and volunteering by taking an insightful trip to Hampton Court Palace, where they can see a newly recreated wine fountain in the Base Court.
The development is intended to give visitors a feel of the life and reign of Henry VIII.
