Attractions in London: War art at Firepower Royal Artillery Museum
Published: Thursday 9th of December 2010
Featuring contemporary works by Annabelle Elford and Matthew Cook alongside never-before-seen pieces from the museum's own collection, A Brush With the Guns has 50 drawings and paintings in all and runs until December 31st.
Mark Smith, curator of the Firepower Royal Artillery Museum, said war has inspired artists to create some of their greatest-ever works.
"The museum is delighted to present such a diverse and thought-provoking collection that ranges from pencil sketches made in trenches under fire through to formal oils created many miles from conflict but just as valid," he said.
Additionally, the museum hosts a curry night every Wednesday evening, which may be just the thing for cold London pass holders to warm up with.
