African photography exhibition 'one of the top London attractions'

Published: Tuesday 4th of May 2010

People looking for exciting things to do in London might want to check out a fascinating exhibition of photographs taken by leading African architect David Adjaye, which are currently on show at the London Design Museum.

The Urban Africa exhibition opened at the end of March and runs until September 5th, giving visitors to London plenty of time to see the eye-catching images.

"Often regarded as a continent defined by under-development, poverty, war and tourism … Adjaye presents Africa in a different light, examining the buildings and places which have a special resonance with his preoccupations as an architect," states the London Design Museum website.

It goes on to say that the photographs provide a unique snapshot of urban Africa, while profiling the continent's cities in a global context.

The London Design Museum is one of the world's leading museums devoted to contemporary design in every form, from furniture to graphics, and architecture to industrial design.
