Published: Friday 23rd of January 2009
Some of the foremost names in British history have leisured in London's private clubs and now members of the public can get a glimpse of that world at the city's Cartoon Museum.
From February 18th to May 3rd visitors to this London museum is hosting 'A Peep into Clubland: Cartoons from Private London Clubs'.
A number of the clubs in the capital have provided the cartoons that adorn their walls and provide a giggle for their members to the museum.
The contributors include the Chelsea Arts Club, the Savage Club and the Sketch Club, while HM Bateman, Peter Arno and James Gillray make up some of the artists who will be featured.
Styles on show will range from caricatures to prints, with plenty of cartoons thrown in for good measure.
Membership of these clubs is famously expensive and exclusive, but London Pass holders can get free admission to the Cartoon Museum along with a ten per cent discount at the gift shop.
