What to do in London? Explore St Paul's with a digital guide

Published: Thursday 6th of August 2009

Visitors to London could soon make their way around its top attractions with the help of digital guides, it has been suggested.

Tourists will be able to download the guides to their smartphone devices, Luke Speller, head of the project at the BMT Group, told the Times.

"You give it examples of things you like and it guides you from beginning to end around a city," he said, with St Paul's just one of the sights to be offered by the handy new guides.

Justin Reid, head of digital technology at VisitBritain, hailed the new technology, saying it could help enhance a tourist experience.

This follows research from STA Travel and the Future Laboratory, which identified that over the next decade developments in technology will change a tourist's experience altogether.

Visitors to London wanting to make the most of the experience can head to St Paul's Cathedral free of charge with the London Pass.
