Underground in Bloom launched

Published: Friday 26th of June 2009

The London Underground has been revealed in a different light following a gardening competition.

Certain stations will see members of the local community and passengers coming together to create gardens, which will be ready for judging between July 27th and August 7th.

Joe Swift, presenter of the BBC2 show Gardeners' World, said: "No matter where you are or how much or little time you may have there is still a chance to create your own little green paradise on your desk, your office or even your station."

This year marks the biggest competition to date, as participants look to improve their local environment and establish more flora and fauna for passengers to enjoy.

Anyone thinking of taking a look at the new displays can do so by buying a travel card with their London Pass.

Not only does it give free access to top attractions, but it also enables people to travel freely around the capital.
