Tower of London twilight tours in the New Year

Published: Wednesday 17th of December 2008

A much-loved London attraction is to offer a series of specially-themed tours to visitors in the New Year.

The Tower Of London Twilight Tours will run every Wednesday from January 7th to March 25th, offering visitors a unique glimpse of this stunning royal property.

Visitors will be guided around by a Yeoman, one of the famous 'Beefeaters' and a key part of the Tower's iconography, from 19:00 for a 90-minute look at another side of this historic site.

Guests will be treated to tales of some of the rather infamous former residents of the Tower, along with stories of the lesser-known and rather incredible events that have formed the folklore of this amazing attraction.

The Tower of London can trace its history back to the White Tower of the late 11th century and its most famous uses are perhaps as a royal prison and the current home of the crown jewels.

LondonPass holders are entitled to free general admission to the Tower of London, saving £16.50 for adults and £9.50 for children, along with free fast track entry, a 20 per cent discount in the New Armouries Cafe and an audioguide at the reduced rate of £2.50.
