Save on sightseeing in London while viewing treasures from Henry VIII's reign

Published: Tuesday 23rd of March 2010

People visiting the capital currently have the exciting opportunity to see a selection of treasures from Henry VIII's reign while they save on sightseeing in London with the London Pass.

Over at the iconic Windsor Castle, an exhibition that focuses on the monarch's reign will continue until April 18th, to mark the 500th anniversary of his accession to the throne.

A collection of important and beautiful items are on show, which have been brought together from the Royal Collection and the St George's Chapel archives.

"Through paintings, drawings, miniatures, prints, books and manuscripts, the exhibition explores the life of a king who had a profound impact on British history and whose fascinating story continues to generate widespread interest today," the Royal Collection website reports.

In 1992, a fire destroyed or damaged more than 100 rooms at Windsor Castle but, fortunately, those worst affected were empty at the time, meaning that the vast majority of the castle's artistic treasures were not lost.
