Party for the bard at Shakespeare's Globe

Fans of the world's most celebrated playwright will be able to get a raucous taste of some of his greatest plays this month at Shakespeare's Globe.

The inimitable and much-acclaimed Footsbarn Theatre group are throwing a party in honour of one of England's most treasured cultural icons at the venue which is situated on the banks of the River Thames.

For over three decades, the group have been traversing the world and spreading the genius of Shakespeare to an international audience.

Returning to London for the first time in 15 years, Footsbarn promise an event involving a riotous mix of theatre, dancing, puppetry, magic and circus, taking in the juiciest parts from plays such as A Midsummer Nights Dream, King Lear, Hamlet, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet.

There will on be five performances of the show - which features 16 performers from 11 different countries - and tickets are likely to be in high demand.

Completed in June 1997, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Tour & Exhibition attracts in the region of 750,000 people every year.
