London attractions: Hunt ghosts at Eltham Palace this Halloween
Published: Wednesday 5th of October 2011
The 1930s Art Deco building was built by the wealthy Courtauld family on a site adjacent to the remains of the original Eltham Palace, childhood home of Henry VIII.
Highlights include the elegant Art Deco entrance hall, Virginia Courtauld's opulent gold-plated bathroom, the family lemur's sleeping quarters and the magnificent medieval great hall.
Eltham Palace is also putting on some spooky Halloween activities this autumn, including a chilling ghost hunting tour.
The resident ghost hunter will take attendees round the palace grounds to track the building's resident ghouls.
Other creepy crafts and spooky activities are also taking place at the Time Travellers Go...Ghosts & Ghouls event, which is running from Sunday October 23rd to Tuesday 25th.
Grown-ups can enjoy the palaces two guided tours, which look at the medieval and art deco aspects of Eltham Palace.
