Future players of the financial markets can benefit from an excellent insight into the inner workings of the Bank of England as part of their itinerary of things to do in London.

The bank at the centre of Britain's financial markets is throwing its doors open to all Londoners and travellers as part of the City of London Festival.

Those with a financial bent should take advantage of this opportunity which will take visitors on a half an hour guided tour through the banks and adjacent museum.

Visitors will make their way to the Garden Court, the Committee Room as well as delve into the history of money itself among the mulberry trees of the secret garden.

Other attractions of the festival include an outdoor piano recital by 21 young musicians in the Guildhall Yard. The Portuguese Chamber Orchestra has also commissioned Brazilian pianist Cristina Ortiz to deliver a solo performance.

The Tower of London, Monument, and Royal Exchange are some of the London attractions that will be turned into concert venues over the festival period.
