Published: Thursday 22nd of November 2012
London is full of historical attractions for visitors to enjoy and one of the most popular is Benjamin Franklin House.
As one may expect, it is the historic residence used by Mr Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of America, and can be found just a short walk away from the bustling Trafalgar Square, on Craven Street.
The building dates back to 1730 with Mr Franklin living there for a period of 18 years, between 1757 and 1775, during which he managed to pack a loads of work in.
Specifically, he was involved in a great deal of mediation and discussions between America and Britain while he also got on with a number of his pioneering scientific studies.
It is now the base for a student science centre and stands as the only remaining residence ever used by the great man himself.
Tours of the building last for approximately one hour and cover three floors of the 18th century building.
