The great value of London attractions is often overlooked by visitors, according to TripAdvisor.

Trips to London need not be expensive, claims the travel advice firm, with plenty of beautiful parks and cheap sightseeing available.

Historical attractions range from the Royal Albert Hall and Firepower Royal Artillery Museum to St Paul's Cathedral and the Handel House Museum.

TripAdvisor spokesperson Emma O'Boyle added that now is a great time to visit London for many other reasons too.

She explained: "Tourists can now take advantage of the new bicycle hire scheme, making travelling around the city much more interesting."

Hotel prices have also fallen in cost in the capital, according to the Trivago Hotel Price Index.

London experienced a ten per cent fall in overnight costs in July, with the cost of a room falling to an average of £136 per night across the capital. This compares to an overall decline in room costs of 15 per cent across the rest of the country.
