HMS Belfast marks D-Day anniversary

Published: Saturday 23rd of May 2009

Top London attraction HMS Belfast is to make sure the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings goes with a bang.

Visitors will be given the opportunity to dress up as crew members, while actors bring tales of the historic event to life.

"Our professional actors will take visitors back in time to June 1944 so they can witness scenes, sounds and smells from the Normandy invasions," promises Brad King, director of HMS Belfast.

He hopes people will be able to appreciate the historic significance of the landings and remember those who lost their lives.

"We must never forget the bravery of the Allied troops," Mr King added, with everyone invited along between May 25th and 30th to help commemorate the occasion.

With the London Pass, visiting HMS Belfast is free of charge, saving £10.70 on the normal price of a ticket.
