Globe unveils 2009 season

The 2009 season at Shakespeare's Globe has been announced, with a series of of plays scheduled over the coming months.

Entitled Young Hearts, the programme will run from the bard's birthday - April 23rd - until October 10th and showcases some of his finest works.

For the romantics out there, Romeo and Juliet could prove to be just the thing when it opens on April 30th with a cast including Jack Farthing and Ellie Kendrick.

Visitors to this top London attraction may also want to try out Che Walker's the Frontline, which offers an insight into life in the capital.

A New World - A Life of Thomas Paine will make its stage debut at the Globe this year and is based on a screenplay commissioned by Richard Attenborough.

Those wanting to take a peek behind the scenes of Shakespeare's Globe can benefit from free entry with the LondonPass, saving £10.50 per adult and £6.50 per child.
