Free entry to 55+ London attractions: St Paul's hosts WWII memorial

Top London attraction St Paul's Cathedral played host to a memorial service yesterday (September 1st).
It commemorated the 70th anniversary of the evacuation of children during the Second World War, with evacuees on hand to share their experiences.
More than 2,000 people turned up at St Paul's Cathedral for the event, including TV personality Michael Aspel who was one of the children evacuated in 1939.
Gordon Abbot, a 76-year-old who moved from Battersea to Cornwall during the evacuation, said: "I was one of the lucky ones. The couple treated me as their son and I was accepted into their extended family."
St Paul's Cathedral has been reconstructed on four occasions, with the latest being designed by Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1675 and 1710.
It will mark its 300th anniversary next year and is currently undergoing a £40 million refurbishment to mark the event.
