Fashionistas at London attractions pay tribute to Alexander McQueen
Published: Monday 22nd of February 2010
Fashionistas attending London attractions involved in this month's London Fashion Week have been paying tribute to the recently deceased designer Alexander McQueen.
Just 11 days following the 40-year-old designer's suicide, celebrities have been lining up with heartfelt tributes for McQueen, who is widely respected for the impact he had on the industry.
On the same day that stars were attending the Baftas at the Royal Albert Hall in London, chairman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman held a one minute silence with audiences at Somerset House.
He said: "I will ask you to join me in sharing both respect and reverence for the passing of one of our greatest British designers Lee McQueen.
"His impact on London and this international fashion industry has been extraordinary. And he will be sorely missed."
Last week at another London attraction event, the Brit Awards, Lady Gaga dedicated her performance to the designer, who was found hanged in his London flat.
