Charity success passes through London attractions

Published: Wednesday 20th of May 2009

London attractions including Tower Bridge and the London Eye formed part of a charity walk that took place yesterday evening.

Tourists emerging from London galleries or museums last night (May 18th) may even have been lucky enough to glimpse a celebrity or two, taking part in the Playtex Moonwalk to raise awareness of breast cancer.

More than 15,000 men and women brightened up the capital's streets last night, wearing brightly coloured bras alongside celebrities including Paul O'Grady and Sara Cox.

The event was arranged by charity Walk the Walk, which hopes to generate more than £6 million through this event alone.

Commenting on the fundraiser, Radio DJ Sara Cox claimed it had been an "amazing experience".

She said: "The volunteers were incredible, their support really kept us going along the way. My friend Rosie and I did the Half Moon in just under four hours."

Founder of Walk the Walk Nina Barough said she was "amazed" at the number of people that took part in the event.

Attendees could even get their very own souvenir Finishers T-Shirt when they crossed the line.
