Celebrate the Cultural Olympiad at Windsor Castle

Published: Tuesday 16th of September 2008

Visitors to Windsor Castle will have the opportunity to join in with the south-east's Cultural Olympiad celebrations later this month.

On September 27th the town will be lit up by colourful lights, with visitors invited to take part in a light art walking trail, leading from Windsor town to the riverside.

The trail begins near Windsor Castle's Curfew Tower and continues down through Boot's Passage and past the Royal Windsor Wheel in Alexandra Gardens.

Windsor Castle's famous Round Tower will also be floodlit to mark the occasion.

The Cultural-Olympiad is a four-year programme that will see a number of spectacular events take place across Britain, as the country prepares for the 2012 Olympic Games.

In related news, Windsor Castle made the headlines earlier this week when a lorry-load of beer destined for a nearby pub was mistakenly delivered to the front gates.
