Britons 'holidaying in London this weekend'

Published: Thursday 9th of April 2009

Britons will be heading to London this Easter weekend in favour of travelling overseas, it is claimed.

Sian Williams, country manager for trivago UK, says it is also a popular destination with overseas tourists, who take advantage of the weak pound.

"Everyone has their own pride for their own country and even though the prices in London are pretty high this month, people are still deciding to go to London," she reveals.

Many European citizens are enjoying staying in their own countries over the long weekend, which is also the case in the UK.

A recent trivago poll showed London is the top destination for Brits with average hotel prices of £119 over the Easter weekend.

People heading to the capital, whether from home or overseas, can take advantage of the London Pass, which gives free entry to a number of top attractions across the city.
