Advent procession at St Paul's Cathedral

Published: Wednesday 26th of November 2008

Visitors to London this winter will be able to take part in a number of events at St Paul's Cathedral.

The historic building has announced a host of festive attractions for Christmas, with the Advent Procession taking pride of place.

To mark the start of Advent on Sunday, St Paul's is to hold two Advent Procession Services. One will take place on Sunday (November 30th) and the second will take place on Monday.

The Cathedral Choir will perform the candlelit cathedral for both services. Poetry readings, as well as moving seasonal music will also form part of the event.

Other highlights of the festive calendar include a carol performance by the Cathedral Choir and the City of London Orchestra on December 11th and the annual Christmas Eve Carol Service.

St Paul's Cathedral is one of the most popular London attractions and is open to visitors on Monday to Saturday between 08:30 and 16:00.

LondonPass holders can gain free entry to the cathedral, saving £10 for adults and £3.50 for children, as well as discounts in the gift shop, Refectory Restaurant and on audio tours.
