Things to do in London: Explore voyeurism at Tate Modern
Published: Monday 10th of May 2010
Tate Modern is set to host a new photographic exhibition focusing on voyeurism, which looks set to become one of the most alluring London attractions over the summer months.
The exhibition, entitled Exposed: Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera, opens on May 28th and runs until October 3rd.
"Exposed offers a fascinating look at pictures made on the sly, without the explicit permission of the people depicted," explained the Tate Modern website.
It revealed that the exhibition will feature photographs from the late 19th century up to the present day, presenting a "shocking, illuminating and witty perspective on iconic and taboo subjects".
Exposed is a fascinating exhibition at the current time in view of the fact that the UK is now the most surveyed country in the world, the website added.
Tate Modern is the national gallery of international modern art and was created in 2000 at the site of a disused power station at Bankside, approximately 600 metres from Southwark Underground station.
