Things to do in London: By art on a post card
Published: Saturday 14th of November 2009
The Royal College of Art Secret exhibition returns to London from today with all original pieces of art on sale for just £40.
RCA Secret is an annual contemporary art exhibition and fundraising sale consisting of more than 2,000 original postcard-sized artworks.
All of the pieces of work are created by students and graduates from the college as well as professional designers, illustrators and artists including Gerhard Richter, Bill Viola, Julian Opie and Grayson Perry.
All of the artworks are signed on the reverse, leaving the artists' identities a secret until the postcards are purchased.
The cards will all be sold on November 21st from 8:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT.
All of the money raised at the sale will go to the RCA Fine Art Student Award Fund, which supports student artists during their training at the college.
The Royal College of Art is the only wholly postgraduate university of art and design in the world. It is located in the heart of London less than a minute's walk from one of the top London attractions - the Royal Albert Hall.
