Mind and body explored at the Tate Modern

Published: Wednesday 10th of December 2008

One of London's most forward-thinking visitor attractions is to host a special discussion of the relationship between body and mind this week.

At the Tate Modern gallery, December 11th will see influential neuroscientist and author Antonio Damasio explore a series of engrossing questions about the nature of the human mind.

Embodiment: Body, Mind and Medicine will take a look at issues of science, art, creativity and emotion as the expert attempts to unravel the complexity of human consciousness.

The event is part of the popular Performing Medicine project, which looks to promote the arts as medium for professional medical training in partnership with leading universities and performance groups.

Tate Modern opened in a disused power station in 2000. The gallery is located on London's Bankside and is regarded as a world-leading centre for modern and contemporary art.
