London gallery unveils gold Kate Moss statue

A solid gold statue of Kate Moss is set to become a new London attraction after being unveiled at the British Museum today, according to reports.
The £1.5 million statue, called Siren, will form part of a collection of contemporary sculptures in the Statuephilia exhibition.
Each sculpture will be placed in a different gallery in the museum, with the 50 kg replica of the model sitting among Greek beauties in the Nereid Gallery.
Marc Quinn, sculptor of the piece, said: "I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who's the ideal beauty of the moment. But even Kate Moss doesn't live up to the image."
The piece is said to be the world's largest statue made entirely from gold since ancient Egyptian times.
Ms Moss has not always been so well received in the art world, with a self-portrait inscribed with former lover Pete Doherty's blood failing to make its reserve at an auction in London last week.
