Published: Tuesday 19th of January 2010
Mareike Spendel will discuss The Conversation, painted by Vanessa Bell (sister of feminist novelist Virginia Woolf) between 1913 and 1916.
British artist Vanessa Bell was born in 1879 and died in 1961 but her work lives on in the Courtauld Gallery, having been acquired in 1935.
The short talk will take place between 13:15 and 13:30 GMT in room 11 on the second floor of the gallery in central London.
Those visiting the city later in the week can attend a talk at the same time on Friday, January 22nd, in which Katerina Pantelides will discuss oil on panel painting The Virgin and Child by Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola, also known as Parmigianino.
Visitors to the gallery can claim a ten per cent discount in all of its shops and a 20 per cent discount in the Admiralty Deli with a London city pass.
