Last chance to see the Turner Prize shortlist at Tate Britain
Published: Friday 9th of January 2009
Love it or loathe, it the annual shortlist for the Turner Prize is guaranteed to generate controversy and provoke debate across the media. This year's selected work was no different.
Art fans have just one week left to see this eclectic and challenging tranche of work as the exhibition at Tate Britain will close on January 18th.
The artists on show represent a broad cross section of media and subject matter. Runa Islam creates films of visually arresting and subtly unsettling work, such as First day of spring (2005) and Be the first to see What You see As You see it (2004).
Elsewhere, eventual winner Mark Leckey's work see the artist use a number of different forms including sound, performance and sculpture to investigate his principle concerns of desire and transformation.
LondonPass holders visiting the fascinating Tate Britain on London's Millbank are entitled to a free audio-guide, saving £3.50.
