Join the Antiques Roadshow on your way to Eltham Palace

Published: Saturday 24th of May 2008

Maybe it's an old pocket watch, a broach or just an aging spouse. Whatever the treasured antique might be, visitors to Eltham Palace could stop off on the way and have their potentially priceless possession valued. They could also appear on TV in the process.

The picturesque Dulwich Picture Gallery will be hosting the popular BBC programme Antiques Roadshow in June and up to 2,000 people are expected come along.

Former news presenter and new a new host of the show Fiona Bruce told the Southwark News: "Everyone loves the agony and ecstasy of the 'what's it worth?' moment. The Roadshow isn't just about antiques - it's history, beauty and drama all wrapped up in one."

Visitors can enjoy the art deco splendour of the nearby Eltham Palace for free by purchasing a London Pass. Built in 1936, the house is situated next to the remains of a medieval palace which was the boyhood home of King Henry VIII.
