"Thrilling" new collection at the Courtauld Gallery
Published: Wednesday 2nd of July 2008
What has been described as a "thrilling" new collection of Impressionist works are to be housed in the Courtnauld Gallery this month.
The Courtnauld Cezannes, according to the Telegraph, are being displayed as part of the gallery's 75th anniversary and should make for a fascinating afternoon visit for tourists interested in London sightseeing.
Cezanne at the Courtnauld was also named by the Times as number one in a top-five list of current exhibitions in London.
Described by the Times as "the patriarch of Modernism", Cezanne was born in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1839 and described as "the father of us all" by Pablo Picasso.
In addition to works of art, retranslated letters that Cezanne wrote to Emile Bonnard also feature.
The Courtnauld Cezannes is showing at the Courtnauld Gallery until October 5th 2008.
