Westminster Abbey: Visit the site of Kate Middleton's fairytale wedding for things to do in London
Published: Monday 18th of February 2013
People looking for things to do in London will not want to pass up on the chance to visit Westminster Abbey, which was the setting for the fairytale wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.
The spectacular church had the eyes of the world on it on that long-awaited day, and people who want to see it for themselves should certainly take the chance while they are in the capital.
Westminster Abbey is a truly historic structure, having been the coronation church since the days of William the Conqueror in 1066. Every monarch since has been crowned in the church, including Queen Elizabeth II.
The abbey is home to the tombs of the great and the good in English history, with people buried there including Charles Dickens, Geoffrey Chaucer, Dr Samuel Johnson and Charles Darwin.
There is also a special scientists corner where people can pay their respects to the great minds of history. This is also home to a memorial for Isaac Newton.
