Visit Apsley House, the home of the Iron Duke, for things to do in London

People looking for things to do in London are spoilt for choice - but one attraction well worth adding to a sightseeing itinerary is Apsley House, which is situated at Number One London.

The impressive building was once home to the Duke of Wellington, who lived there after his famous victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo.

Visitors will see that the interior of the house has changed very little since the days of the Iron Duke.

As well as being a famous opponent in battle, Wellington was something of an art lover, and as a result Apsley House contains one of the best art collections in London.

It includes pieces by famed artists like Velazquez and Rubens, as well as an impressive collection of silver and porcelain.

One of the most eye-catching pieces is a massive nude statue of Napoleon gifted to Wellington by the government.
