Things to do in London: Take a trip to the zoo

Published: Thursday 1st of November 2012

When visiting London with the family, what better way to spend an afternoon than visiting the city's famous and wholly enjoyable zoo?

London Zoo remains one of the best family-friendly attractions in the capital with plenty of things to see and do for family members of all ages.

It stands as the world's oldest scientific zoo, having been opened way back in 1847, with visitors now able to get up close (although not too close) and personal with more than 720 different species of animals.

London Zoo is the only one in the capital where you can see gorillas and giraffes, while the various exhibits, such as Into Africa, Meet The Monkeys and Butterfly Paradise will be sure to keep everyone entertained.

The zoo opens daily with various animals' feeding times taking place regularly throughout the day, so what are you waiting for?
