Things to do in London: Francis Goodman featured at the National Portrait Gallery

It features work by artists from across the globe and it also boasts having the largest collection of portraits in the world.
If you are planning on a trip to the gallery over the next few months, you will get a chance to view a series of photographs by Francis Goodman (1913-89) which has hit the headlines lately.
His work takes the viewer on a trip down memory lane with over 40 black and white photographs depicting scenes within the Second World War, tourist hotspots featuring 1930s celebrities and fashion shots of clothing and style. His work is set to go on display on April 23rd.
Guests will also get a chance to see Dame Maggie Smith, actress who starred in Downton Abbey, who was invited to sit for a portrait commissioned by The National Portrait Gallery.
Other highlights of the attraction include depictions of monarchs such as Henry VII, Queen Elizabeth II and notable figures such as Florence Nightingale.
