Published: Tuesday 5th of February 2013

People looking for things to do in London should consider a trip to the Royal Albert Hall - arguably the city's most iconic venue.

From February 21st until March 3rd, the Royal Albert Hall will be hosting Carmen - a stunning opera that brings to life the essence of Spain.

The story goes that Carmen, a fiery gypsy girl, is arrested for attacking a co-worker in the cigarette factory. However, her guard Don Jose agrees to release her on the condition of her love.

However, she soon sets him aside for the glamorous Escamillo, and a rage-filled Don Jose chases Carmen back to Seville. A tragic ending ensures.

According to the Royal Albert Hall: "Bizet's rich and timeless score contains some of opera’s finest arias and best-loved music. Escamillo’s rousing Song of the Toreador, Carmen’s bewitching Seguidilla and tantalizingHabanera and Don José's heartfelt Flower Song never fail to captivate, seducing you with the sensual music and sultry rhythms of Spain."
