London attractions: Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum presents the history of the sport

Published: Monday 4th of February 2013

People looking for sporting London attractions should consider visiting one of the city's most iconic sporting grounds - Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.

There are plenty of highlights of a tour round the museum, with visitors able to experience the incredible atmosphere in the 1980's gentleman's dressing room as John McEnroe guides them through the areas usually off-limits to fans.

People who want to find out more about the history of the game can use the interactive touch screen consoles throughout the museum. They can also learn about the world-famous tennis club itself.

There are also plenty of items from the history of tennis presented through an exhibition, with artefacts dating from the 1880s right up to current times.

Those who prefer a different sport to tennis may be more interested in paying a visit to the Twickenham World Rugby Museum, Lord's Cricket Ground or Chelsea Stadium however.
