The Wernher Collection at Rangers House gives visitors the best of both worlds when it comes to London attractions. If you are into art, you may love this attraction, and if you have a special appreciation for natural beauty, you can enjoy that too.
This historic building was built in 1723, and includes over 700 masterpieces from the Renaissance period, as well as Gothic carvings and assorted treasures.
The artwork was assembled by diamond magnate Sir Julius Wernher in the 1850s and early 20th century.
Visitors to this beautiful Georgian villa are treated to guided tours, which are free for English Heritage members, as well as regular events and a chance to browse the gallery.
The building is set in the midst of some beautiful gardens, just by Greenwich Park. So if you are looking for a rare glimpse into the lifestyle and tastes of some of the city’s most important historical figures, then the Wernher Collection is definitely a fantastic place to start.
