London attractions: Visit the moving exhibitions of the Jewish Museum

Published: Sunday 27th of January 2013

People looking for things do in London could head to the Jewish Museum, where they will see some fascinating and moving exhibitions, and learn a little bit about Jewish culture.

From February 21st to June 16th, the museum is hosting an exhibition entitled R.B.Kitah: Obsessions, which explores the work of one of the most significant post-war painters in Britain.

His work went against the trend in abstract art which prevailed in the 1960s and saw him instead at the forefront of British figurative painting.

This exhibition will feature over 20 works in which the artist studied his Jewish identity. Highlights of the display include The Wedding, If Not, Not, Cecil Court, London W2 (The Refugees) and The Jewish Rider.

In addition, the museum is hosting a display of Portraits of Primo Levi to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day.

Until February 28th, the museum is putting a series of portraits of one of the most important survivor-writers on the holocaust.
