London attractions: The Tiltyard Cafe offers the best of British food at Hampton Court Palace

Published: Monday 15th of October 2012

People visiting Hampton Court Palace for things to do in London who decide to sit down for lunch should consider a trip to the Tiltyard Cafe, which offers all manner of treats.

Diners will enjoy mouth-watering food in a historical setting, with the Tiltyard cafe being situated in the area that the famously tyrannical monarch Henry VIII once used for jousting.

These days diners can enjoy stunning views of the scented gardens which are framed through the cafe's tall French windows. While the interior decor the cafe pays homage to its Tudor roots, it has recently been rejuvenated and now boasts a clean, modern look.

The menu triumphs British food, serving up everything from homemade hot dishes to refreshing drinks, organic ice cream and delicious cakes. Those after more of a hearty offering could go for a beef broth from the coppers, sumptuous roasts and pies from the oven or pan-fried fish from the stove.
