London attractions: Take a walk on the wild side with Wetland Centre
Published: Monday 11th of March 2013
If you love wildlife and are on the lookout for things to do in London, then you’ll love the Wetland Centre.
The WWT London Wetland Centre is home to a number of different species and is thought to be one of the best urban sites in Europe to watch wildlife.
As we rapidly move into spring, visitors will get the chance to see all animals such as flamingos, songbirds, jacks and cranes.
Mating season is also underway, and as such it is a great time to see animals in their prime.
Martin McGill, senior reserve warden at WWT Slimbridge said: “Spring hasn’t quite sprung, but our wildlife is out there, strutting its stuff already. Everyone wants to get the edge in the race to breed and this means there are some beautiful displays of animal behaviour to see at WWT Wetland Centres.”
Some of the current highlights of the centre include lapwings performing their acrobatic courtship flights, according to information released by the centre, as well the sound of the beauty melody of songbirds singing loudly to each other to compete for females.
So if you are a nature lover then this is definitely one that is not to be missed.
