London attractions: Take a tour of Southwark Cathedral this Easter
Published: Tuesday 26th of March 2013
There is something about religious places of worship that makes you warm to them and Southwark Cathedral is certainly no exception.
The architecture alone makes the cathedral worth visiting. It is one of the oldest gothic buildings in London and was built between the 12th and 14th century.
There is hardly a better time to visit this building than in Easter, when a series of ceremonies and activities will be taking place.
These include various meditations, holy suppers, baptisms and sermons. But even if you’re not into the religious aspect of the attraction, it is still a fascinating place to visit and watch the events take place.
Guests are free to tour the building, witness acts of worship and then stop for refreshments at the refectory.
