Published: Saturday 13th of October 2012

People visiting the fascinating Tower of London for things to do in London need a break from all the excitement, and the New Armouries Cafe is a great place to do so.

The restaurant, which is situated within the Tower, offers everything from gourmet snacks to seasonal salads and homemade cakes to hearty meals.

Now is a great time to enjoy the cafe, as it has just undergone a renovation, and diners can sit down to a mouth-watering meal in an intriguing setting with 1,000 years of history behind it.

The selection on offer strives to celebrate the Great British meal, and diners will take a tour of English fare. They can opt for the self-service Brick Lane counter for a few quick bites, or head over to the Covent Garden section where the chef will create a salad right in front of your.

Meanwhile, artisanal cheese and baked goods are on offer at Borough Market, while Old Billingsgate boasts fish dishes and Smithfield serves up meat. Leadenhall features pasta and vegetarian options.
