London attractions: See a glittering selection of art at the Wernher Collection at Ranger's House

People looking for fascinating things to do in London could opt to visit the Wernher Collection at Ranger's House.

Situated in the graceful mansion of Ranger's House is a sumptuous collection of artwork, encompassing sparkling silver and jewels, impressive paintings and delicate porcelain.

The collection is surprisingly large and diverse, featuring almost 700 works.

It includes everything from early religious paintings, silver medieval treasures and tiny carved Gothic ivories to Dutch Old Masters and fine Renaissance bronzes.

According to English Heritage, the highlights of the collection include discovering 700 pieces of art, an owl-shaped coconut shell and the statue Loves of Angels.

The Wernher Collection at Ranger's House is a fantastic addition to an itinerary of things to do in London, as it is situated near a number of other London attractions, including Eltham Palace and Gardens.

Visitors to Eltham Palace can opt for either a medieval tour, and learn about the site in the time of Henry VIII, or an Art Deco tour, and be educated on the indulgent family that built the new mansion in the early twentieth century.
