London attractions: See Digital Crystal at the Design Museum

Published: Saturday 17th of November 2012

Culture fans looking for things to do in London should pay a visit to the Design Museum, which always has interesting exhibitions going on.

Currently showing is Digital Crystal: Swarovski At The Design Museum - a challenge for designers to explore the future of memory in the digital age.

It is made up of 15 unique installations looking at the future of memory in their own way.

Another exhibition is Designers in Residence 2012, which features pieces by a number of up-and-coming designers.

Names in the exhibition include Freyja Sewell, Oscar Medley-Whitfield and Harry Trimble, Lawrence Lek and Yuri Suzuki.

Visitors will be able to explore Freyja's residency, which investigates the wool fibres which are produced as a by-product of the British carpet industry, and the potential of these. It comes in the form of a series of experimental furniture.

Meanwhile Oscar Medley-Whitfield and Harry Trimble have teamed up and produced a range of ceramics made of clay dug from the banks of the river Thames, which celebrates Southwark's historic and once-thriving ceramics industry.
