London attractions: Relax with some delicious food at the Orangery

Published: Saturday 15th of December 2012

Kensington Palace is one of the premier London attractions, and visitors who want a bit of a break from all the sightseeing will be delighted by the refreshments on offer at the delightful Orangery.

Queen Anne's 18th-century Orangery is set in the heart of Kensington Gardens, and harks back to the days of ostentatious court entertainment.

Nowadays it is the perfect setting to munch on some delicious homemade food.

On offer at the Orangery are hot breakfasts, morning coffee and pastries, as well as elegant lunches and mouth-watering homemade cakes and pastries.

There is also afternoon tea, al fresco dining on the terrace, and a selection of wines and historic royal palaces' beets.

If you want to get into the festive feeling, you should attend tea at the opulent Orangery on a number of special dates. On these days they can enjoy the beautiful sound of harpists.
