Published: Wednesday 8th of August 2012

People looking for interesting things to do in London could opt for a trip to the HMS Belfast - one of Britain's most famous warships.

Those visiting this vessel will learn about a lifestyle that is likely far removed from their own, experiencing what it was really like to live and work on board a warship.

Nine decks of fascinating maritime history are waiting to be discovered, including stories from notorious conflicts of the Second World War and beyond.

Exhibitions teach visitors intriguing seafaring facts such as how the convoys managed in freezing Arctic conditions, the part they played in bombarding German defences on D-Day and patrolling during the Korean War.

In the Gun Turret Experience, people are thrown right into a battle of the Second World War and there is also an interactive Operations Room in which guests can play Commander.

They will also learn about the human side of being in the navy - what it was like to live on a ship with so many other sailors, working and socialising together.

Discover more for less with a London sightseeing pass.
