London attractions: Pay a visit to Apsley House at Number One, London

People seeking things to do in London could opt for a trip to Apsley House, which is situated at the prestigious address 'Number One London'.

This grandiose building is famous for being the home of the Duke of Wellington after he beat Napoleon at Waterloo.

As well as this rich historical heritage, Apsley House contains a fantastic art collection, as the Duke enriched the space with his vast selection of pieces which contains many treasures.

It encompasses paintings by greats such as Velazquez and Rubens in addition to an eye-catching collection of silver and porcelain.

A great nude statue of Napoleon is one of the highlights of the collections, and is a must-see for any visitor to Apsley House.

Also on show is the gilt Portuguese service which was awarded to Wellington, and the breathtaking Waterloo Gallery is well worth a visit.

The building was designed by Robert Adam and built between 1771 and 1778.
