London attractions: London Design Museum is a great day out for all the family
Published: Tuesday 2nd of April 2013
If you have a passion for contemporary design then the Design Museum is perfect when you are looking for great things to do in London.
Whether you have a soft spot for architectural, graphic or industrial design, it’s all here. Its current exhibition is the Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things collection which include stories about ordinary furniture, everyday objects, transport and fashion, and the history about the history behind their designs.
It will also feature short films alongside a collection of artefacts and models.
The museum is the only one in the UK which has been created to celebrate, entertain and inform guests about the technology and work behind contemporary designs.
Other highlights of the museum include regular talks and events, lectures, family fun activities and late night opening.
If you head down to the museum at the end of this month, you’ll get a chance to see a talk by designer Peter Anderson, who will be speaking about designing visual language, such as logos, signs and titles.
