Published: Friday 30th of November 2012
England has an impressive military history, and people looking for London attractions where they can delve into this past should consider a trip to the Firepower Royal Artillery Museum, where there are plenty of things to see and do.
Gunnery Hall is a must see part of the museum, as it allows visitors to get up close to artillery that has been essential in modern battles around the world.
This includes anti-aircraft, anti-tank, coastal defence, light and medium artillery, self propelled guns and missile launchers.
Field of Fire is one of the most fun parts of visiting the museum, which aims to let them find out what it is like to be a Gunner in war time.
Four massive screens display archive film and documentary footage, while smoke fills the air, searchlights pick out the artillery which is dotted around, and the sound of exploding bombs shake the floor.
