Published: Tuesday 12th of March 2013

If you are looking for fun things to do in London, why not hop on board the HMS Belfast, which is moored on the River Thames.

This historic ship was used in active military engagements up until the 1960s, and was used in the destruction of the battle cruiser Scharnhorst, the Normandy Landings and the Korean War.

It celebrates its 75 year anniversary on St Patrick’s Day, March 17th, and it is holding a number of family activities to celebrate the occasion.

So if you are around on March 16th-17th, there’ll be a number of weekend activities for you to get your teeth into.

Highlights of the weekend include gun firing at various times throughout the day, medallion making sessions for the kids and live radio sessions.

In addition, guests can enjoy some live music performances and some Irish-themed food onboard.

The events are suitable for all ages and give visitors a chance to delve more into the history behind this iconic battleship.
